How do you find your style?

How do you find your style?

Do you write then write and then write again and then write some more? Or do you choose a style and progress and grow in it? What is the route to take? Is your style and expression of your being like your face or nose? Or is it just one of the many available avenues to take to express the inside longings?

It seems reasonable to just write ’till all your pieces will look like a familiar figure that you can recognize from afar. Appealing to my nature of “practice and more practice” this way is the one I am most likely to take.

Your style is already there, waiting for you. Essentially finding it is a matter of feeling around in the dark till you bump into it.
